Fall is just beginning but as those of us with children know Halloween will be here before we know it!
I don’t know about in your neighborhood but in ours there have been a few times a few neighbors were ready to head to bed and literally dumped their whole bowl in my son’s bag. We had so much candy and I knew that if I left it sitting around we would end up eating far more than any of us should have.
So I explored my options. I could hand it over to our dentist during their buy back program. I could parcel it out for treats, but with my son’s habit of sneaking food that was likely to end in disaster. So finally I began digging up recipes to use the candy in for family dinners, gifts, and even to put aside some for Thanksgiving.
If your neighbors aren’t as generous as mine these are also great recipes to make for thanksgiving after all the Halloween candy goes on clearance!
