Thanksgiving is almost upon us. That time of year when family descends upon our households expecting to be fed … I mean to give thanks for the wonderful blessings we’ve received.
Really though, while I’m sure there is a side of gratitude to be found before that pants-popping trip for seconds, can you imagine Thanksgiving without good food?
I’m pretty sure if my family showed up and it didn’t look like I had personally robbed a grocery store to feed them you would shortly find them at the local Cracker Barrel (and I most likely would NOT be invited).
Luckily I have decided to take some of the guess-work (and stress) out of Thanksgiving dinner for you by putting ALL the delicious Thanksgiving side and starter recipes you need in one place for easy access (unfortunately you are on your own with the in-laws).
Thanksgiving Starters
A veggie tray with some chips and dip are always our go to for having people over, mainly because they are SO easy and don’t require messing up the kitchen I just cleaned. But on Thanksgiving those just don’t seem to cut it. So if you are trying to get in good with the mother-in-law or promised Great Aunt Bess you would bring an appetizer, scroll on for some Thanksgiving starters that are guaranteed to impress.

Thanksgiving Veggie Sides
If your home is ANYTHING like mine my initial reaction to anything veggie is cringing because I can already anticipate the fake theatrics while the kids act like I am trying to kill them with green stuff. Nevertheless, you can’t have Thanksgiving without some veggies on the side (plus we at least need to project to our families that our children aren’t heathens who refuse to eat vegetables).
I can’t imagine Thanksgiving without a big ‘ole scoop of green bean casserole. Who knows with recipes this delicious maybe the kids will find one veggie dish they absolutely LOVE and will one day fight with their own kids about trying.
