School may be starting but here in Texas we are entering the hottest part of the year!
Maybe it’s because I’m pregnant, but I just cannot stand the heat and have been looking for every way possible to cool down. So when we were given a few fresh watermelons, I decided to get creative and make a delicious, simple, and healthy watermelon sorbet!
The fresh icy sorbet turned out delicious and even my super picky 7 year old approves (just don’t let him know it’s healthy)!

Ingredients
- Small Seedless Watermelon
- 2 Limes
- 3-4 Tbsp Water
- Optional: Sugar Crystal Sprinkles
First you need to slice and cube your watermelon.
hint: We eat A LOT of watermelon every year and this watermelon slicer is one of the BEST investments we’ve made!
Using the watermelon slicer is as easy as:
1 ) Cut off the watermelon’s ends
2) Push down!
Once the watermelon is cubed, put it in a freezer bag and then pop it in a freezer for at least 2 hours.
Pop it in a blender, add the 3-4 Tbsp of water and the juice from 2 limes.
Blend until the watermelon is a shaved ice consistency.
Scoop it into bowls and sprinkle with sugar crystals.
An alternative serving suggestion (my husband’s favorite): Scoop into a mason jar and add your favorite lemon-lime soda for a refreshing watermelon slush!
