My oldest is a July baby and that means in order to send home invites through school we have to celebrate early!
So while this mama was getting a jumpstart on party planning, I was going through photos of his previous parties for ideas. I loved few of his parties as much as his Big Hero 6 one, so I thought I’d share my favorite bits and pieces with you!

The Birthday Party Invites
I have plenty of cardstock at home, so I used a bit to make DIY Invitations.
I used plain cardstock for the background, made a Baymax template and cut out and arranged the pieces, used patterned scrapbook paper and string for the balloons, and found cupcake pattern scrapbook paper for the accents.
A Baymax Worthy Location
If you’ve seen the movie you probably know that big hero 6 centers around a hilarious white robot.
Personally I think that a great idea for older children would be to hold the party at a science museum with a robotics area.
Our son was turning 4 so he was a little young for robotics, so what goes better with a big puffy robot than a venue full of bounce houses?
Big Hero 6 Party Decor
We kept it pretty simple since we had a limited time frame to set up. But balloons and themed plates went a long way!
After a quick search it seems most of the plates have long since stopped being produced and have experienced quite the markup, so my advice would be to opt for plates in red, black, and white!
There are luckily still plenty of Big Hero 6 Balloons out there though!
Baymax Cake
My mom made a armored-up Baymax cake by wrapping a round cake in fondant and I think it turned out really well!
The cupcakes were made using flattened white frosting 2 black M&M’s, and a thin line of black icing. Seriously a easy DIY!
The Gift Bags
One of my favorite parts of any children’s party is the gift bags!
As a child I always loved the odd little bits and bobbles and as a adult I think they are fun to put together.
I found some super cute, and not terribly expensive, bags and loaded them up with everything from Big Hero Six stampers to stickers!
If you are looking for places to start here are a few of the things I bought:
It may not be the “newest” Disney movie on the block, but I have to say it is one of my favorites.
I love that it engages kids in STEAM concepts and has something for girls and boys alike.
So if your kids are like my child and always want that impossible theme for their party (seriously my oldest wanted Pink Panther one year), hopefully these links and advice will keep you sane!
