Mother’s day: A time to think of and appreciate the invaluable role mothers play in our lives and in society, because let’s be real without moms life as we know it would cease to exist.
You are the unsung warriors of everyday life. You do more than anyone could ever know and give more than you ever thought you had in you. You wipe little tears and kiss boo-boos, then watch with pride ( and a few tears of your own) as your little ones leave the nest and test their wings. You watch as in the blink of an eye your kids leave, have children of their own, then those children have children, and you are surrounded by the beautiful chaos that you created.
The days seem long now and, with an infant, the nights seem even longer, but nothing can still the endless march of time. These days are fleeting so you try your hardest, even on your worst days, to be there and be present. You laugh, you cry, you struggle, you play, and you live, knowing that these little hands will only be little for so long.
So on this Mother’s Day my wishes for you are:
That you get to sleep in (preferably past 9 AM).
That breakfast doesn’t end up IN bed.
That your child’s masterpiece breakfast is edible.
That your husband sneaks you Starbucks if it isn’t.
That the house fairies magically cleaned your home overnight.
That a least once you laugh so hard you cry.
That you don’t have to even look at laundry.
That you find time for a nap.
That you get one decent photo with you actually in it.
That your husband cooks (or picks up) your favorite dinner and then does the dishes.
That you remember what a wonderful, irreplaceable mother you are.
Most of all, my wish for you is that you make memories with the little (and big) people who call you mom.
Happy Mother’s Day!
May Your day be as special as you are
