The Best Pumpkin Patches in DFW

Get out and enjoy fall in Texas! These are the best Pumpkin Patches in the DFW area and North Texas!

Every year my family heads out to one of our many local spectacular pumpkin patches, after all nothing says fall like getting lost in a corn maze and going on a hayride! From picturesque fall festivals to 2 acre corn mazes these are the BEST pumpkin patches in DFW.

Blase Family Farm

Open: September 29 – October 31, 2018

Admission: $8.00

Location: 1232 East Fork Drive Rockwall, Texas 75087

Nestled in a wooded area and with a few actual hills you can almost imagine that you are up North and far away from our normal flat North Texan landscape at the Blase Family Farm.

Beyond a TON of pumpkins this locale boasts the most picture perfect sets I’ve seen, so be sure to bring a good camera to capture pictures of your little ones. They also have a hay-ride which is included in the admission price and was by far one of the most comfortable ones I’ve been on. Admission also includes the petting zoo and a hot dog on the weekends or a small pumpkin on weekdays.

The Flowermound Pumpkin Patch

Admission: $5.00 Weekday Parking Charge
$10.00 Weekend Parking Charge

Location: 5100 Cross Timbers Rd. Flowermound, Texas 75028

The Flowermound Pumpkin Patch probably boasts the widest variety of pumpkins and gourds of any pumpkin patch on the list! They have pumpkins, more pumpkins, and even more pumpkins practically as far as the eye can see.

There are several other fun activities to keep you (and your little ones) entertained. The patch has quite a few bounce houses, hayrides, a hay bale maze, a playground, and so much more. All are included free of charge and unlike other locations the only fee is the per car parking fee (unless of course you want to buy a pumpkin)!

The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm

Open: September 15 – November 21, 2018

Admission: $8.00 Weekdays
$10.00 Weekends

Location: 15102 TX-289 Gunter, Texas 75078

The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm is located in Preston Trail Farms, admission includes a TON but the specifics depend not the day (so be sure to check their link!) This is one of the few North Texan pumpkin patches where you can see pumpkins growing on an actual vine. If you have a fur child no need to leave him behind, well behaved dogs on leashes are welcomed at this location.

They have a wonderful petting barn, a corn maze, and of course offer a hayride along the edge of the property. The General Store boasts a wide range of snacks and the Preston Trail Farm cafe is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat. This location will always have a special place in my son’s heart because it was where he became a “true Texan” and discovered the goodness of Moonpies and  Dr Pepper on an outdoor patio.

Admission:  $15.00 Adult, $12.00 Senior, $10.00 Ages 2-12

Location: 8525 Garland Road Dallas, Texas 75218

This is NOT your typical pumpkin patch, however it is probably the most breathtaking fall festival you can find in the area. Boasting more than 90,000 beautifully displayed pumpkins and hundreds of thousands of flowers Autumn at the Arboretum is a picture perfect fall paradise.

Be sure to check out the events calendar because they offer everything from Football Fun to live music and BBQ tastings. The most interesting events for little ones include daily showings of the Disney classic “Peter Pan” and the Family Fun Weekend October 27-28.

Hall’s Pumpkin Farm

Open: September 28 – October 31, 2018

Admission: $5.00 (cash only)

Location: 3420 Hall Johnson Road Grapevine, Texas 76051

The Shining star of Hall’s Pumpkin Patch is the 2 acre, 9 foot tall corn maze, which is easily the best corn maze I’ve been to outside of Iowa. Beyond plentiful pumpkins Hall’s has several amenities perfect to entertain young children from slides to mini peddle-driven tractors. My son also LOVED the hay cottage, although I’m not sure if they create a version every year or not. The farm does offer hay rides as well and they cost an additional $3-$5 dollars depending on the time of day.
