While working on one of my fall wreaths, I couldn’t help but think all those (sometimes annoying) glue string strands would make for some AWESOME spiderwebs. So I picked up a few extra pumpkins at the dollar store and since the best parts of halloween happen at night I made my own DIY Glow in the dark Spiderweb pumpkins.

Time: 1 Hour (30 minutes crafting time, 30 minute paint dry time)
Materials:
- Black Acrylic Paint
- Low-Temp Mini Glue Gun
- Glow-in-the-Dark Mini Glue Sticks
- Foam Paint Brush
- Dollar Store Styrofoam or Plastic Pumpkins
Using the foam brush paint the pumpkins black, If the Pumpkin has a stem you can use it to hold onto otherwise let it dry for a bit before handling it and painting the other side. I didn’t paint the stems, only the pumpkins
Hint: I found “dabbing” the paint on worked way better than traditional “painting, plus it minimized streaks!
First create solid hot glue lines going down the pumpkin, I placed mine in the middle of the “bulge” between the pumpkin ridges so they were evenly spaced. Then I went ahead and added a few solid “webs” so I could be sure they showed up in dim light!
Then comes my favorite part!
Create a small dab of hot glue along one of the solid lines and then another on the next horizontal line, the (normally annoying) thin hot glue string creates a perfect thin glow in the dark spiderweb. Go back and forth along the first segment then move onto the next until the entire pumpkin is covered in glow in the dark spiderwebbing!
Personally I loved the way these pumpkins turned out so much I’ll be using this technique on a few other DIYS soon!
