As we mulled over the ticket options while planning our trip to Disney World I came across the Memory Maker add-on option and was extremely intrigued.
On one hand I LIVE with my cell-phone in my hand so would this additional add-on truly pay off or could I just capture all those images on my own anyway?
On the other hand taking photos ourself always leads to someone (normally me) being left out and wouldn’t it be great if we could ALL actually be in photos together to remember this long-planned and dreamed of Disney Vacation?
The more I read the more I knew I at least wanted to try it, it wasn’t cheap but then again few things associated with a Disney Vacation are. So if you are debating whether to add the Memory Maker unlimited photo pass to your tickets here is why it is the one Disney souvenir that is 100% worth every penny!
Your ENTIRE Group Is Covered!
Memory Maker is a GREAT deal because you can link the single memory maker purchase to your ENTIRE party.
In our case we had 5 people in our group linked to memory maker by simply linking our magic bands or passes to it. Meaning every time any of us went on a ride or swiped our card the photo was added to our photo library.
In addition we also used it for some large group photos with all 14 of our family members across 3 generations!
Disney World Ride Photos You Can’t Take Yourself!
This was our first trip to Disney World as a family and was also my oldest’s first time on any rollercoaster!
A single ride photo of his excited little face would have cost around $14.95 but with Memory Maker ALL of the ride photos were included!
Just in ride photos alone the Memory Maker saved us money. We received over 14 ride photos which would have cost over 200 dollars bought alone but were included in Memory Maker for $169.
All in all there are currently 12 rides that have a photo so be sure to be on the look out!
Unique Disney Experience Photos
Planning a trip with your little princess to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique ?
Hoping to let your little Jedi fight Darth Vader at the Jedi Training Academy?
Professional photos at BOTH of these unique Disney experiences are included in your Memory Maker!
I’m a boy mom so I sadly haven’t had an excuse to do princess makeover (yet), but my oldest LOVED his experience at the Jedi Training Academy,
If you haven’t been the Disney photographer’s get the front row space while the parents are behind a rope, meaning they get WAY better photos. If I didn’t have Memory Maker I would have definitely ended up shelling out more cash for those Jedi photos because they were just that good!
Character Photos
We unfortunately didn’t get the chance to do a whole lot of character meet and greets due to long lines and holiday crowds.
We did manage to catch Alice after riding the tea cups and the photographer snapped some AWESOME photos of my son, all of which were also included in Memory Maker.
Beautiful Photos of The WHOLE Family
This is one of the few family trips where we have quite a few photos of EVERYONE.
From pictures of my husband, kids, and me to pictures of my entire 14 person family, the Disney photographers were more than happy to capture all of us in front of beautiful backdrops!
TONS of Iconic Disney Locations
I’m not exaggerating when I say there area TON of Photopass locations around the Disney World resort.
From a bustling Main street in front of the castle to Sunset Boulevard during a snow shower and even the Tree of Life, there are so many photographers stationed around the park it is hard to even mention them all.
If you do buy Memory Maker and want to make the most of it, you can easily find the current photo pass locations easily on the My Disney Experience App by going to the App, selecting the map, and filtering for Photopass.
Another perk? Even though we were at Disney during the busiest time of year the lines were never more than 5 minutes or so!
Surprise Bonuses
Memory Maker comes with a few fun bonuses that I truly has little knowledge of when we bought the pass.
Ride Videos – We only received one or two but I won’t lie the Tower of Terror video was pretty awesome (and hilarious). My son was ummmmm….a bit more than slightly afraid of tower of terror by the time we hit the first drop so having a video of his shocked face will be a fun one to pull out as he grows up and learns to love the ride!
Magic Memories – Tinkerbell flying across the screen? A magical think bubble hovering in front of the Epcot Geosphere? Cartoon mistletoe worthy of a kiss? All and so many more are possible with the Magic Memory photos included with your Memory Maker pass.
Photo Booths – There are a few photo booths scattered throughout Disney World and they all accept memory maker as well!
Messages from Disney Friends – We received a few fun messages in our memory maker vault as well!
Great Support
Fingers crossed all your photos show up in the app with no issues, but if they don’t I can say from experience the Memory Maker team is great!
99% of our photos showed up within 24 hours after they were taken however after we returned home I realized that a few were missing from a particular day. So I filled out a quick form and within a few days they were all in my account!
So would I Recommend Memory Maker?
YES! Hands down I would definitely recommend it.
If you are like us and have to plan and dream about Disney for a while before making the trip Memory Maker is an AMAZING way to remember your trip.
It is one of the few souvenirs we bought and is by far the ONE souvenir that means the most!
